Transcendent Truth & Tyranny

This Sunday at our Living Stones Crown Point campus I will begin a two-part series entitled, “Transcendent Truth & Tyranny: America at the Crossroads.” I will be discussing the importance of keeping God and His Law as the foundation of our public life. I’ll be showing what happens when the State usurps the authority that belongs to God alone. The result is always tyranny and oppression.

I believe America is at a profound fork in the road. Which direction will we take – truth or tyranny?

Thomas Jefferson, the Founding Father the secularists like to use as their poster child, made the following observation. He asked,

“Can the liberties of a nation be thought to be secured when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that they are gifts of God?”

Jefferson knew the lessons from history and he experienced, first hand, the tyranny and oppression that gave rise to the American Revolution.

I believe we are on the verge of another Great Awakening in America. I hope you’ll come out Sunday to join the revolution!

Your dedication to awaken complacency is commendable and necessary.

Pastor Senior gave a message many years ago about “the test of time”, and if I may inject a personal perspective: that which is open and blatant before God, fails in the test of time, if it is not according to His Ways. God’s Word and Truth exposes to the mind and conscience of righteous and virtuous men and women, sending them into action for the benefit of the faithful children of God through Christ. Our society is laced and governed with good and bad imposed intentions; our faith in God to “expose”, tests our patience and fearlessness to love mankind despite adversity; this is faith in action. We can bank on this daily, as an opportunity to make our Christian efforts work at making a safer society until……. time runs out. We hang in “on the Cross” as they “know not what they do”, but, what is done, they know exactly what it does, despite God. Our blessed America appears dirty, but as it is cleaned up by established Christian effort, the original established quality will show up and shine for God’s Glory.
